Might be you aren’t aware of the war going on in between Google and Facebook when Google+ and its video calling plug-in called “Hangout” came into an existence. To take down Google, Facebook joined hands with Skype to provide video calling feature to its users. You can now see your friends face to face using the web cam and the audio device. Most of the non-tech savvy people are able to figure it out how to start with the Facebook video chat. This article will help you get started with Facebook video calling.
Enable Facebook Video chat:

First things first, go to www.facebook.com/videocalling. Install the java application/Facebook video calling plug-in if require. Video calling will be enabled immediately. Keep in mind that video calling of Facebook is supported by Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and opera only so you are using safari or Internet Explorer and it won’t work. If you don’t see any plug-in page or it is missing try to update the browser which you are using. Again it shouldn’t be Safari or Internet Explorer.
How to use Facebook Video calling: Once you have enabled the video calling feature via steps mentioned above. Keep following for how to use it.

(i) Log on to Facebook.com and sign-in.
(ii) Make sure your webcam is working fine along with the audio device connected with your system.
(iii) Once you are in. Select the friend you want to chat.
(iv) Click on the “Video Camera” like icon.
(v) This will begin the Video call session to that particular person. Let the person answer your call.

(vi) Remember, if the person is not online or not connected to the internet or he/she hasn’t enabled the video calling plug-in yet, calling option will not work. The video calling button will be either Gray in colour or won’t be visible there.
Disable Facebook Video chat: You can certainly disable the Facebook video chat feature by uninstalling the Facebook video calling plug-in from the control panel. Go to the “Settings” of your system, click on “Control Panel” now go to “Programs and Features” Click on “Uninstall a program.” Find out the Facebook Video Calling and right click then tap “Uninstall”

This will prevent your friends to calling you on Facebook and it will represent that you don’t have the video calling plug-in installed in your system hence, you can’t take the call at the moment. The plug-in can be re-installed again if required in future.
