Umrah pilgrimage is a sunnah pilgrimage that is undertaken voluntarily by a pilgrim travelling through Hajj 2022 price. Though umrah performance isn’t obligatory for any Muslim, it is advised to undertake the holy journey because of the high rewards it holds. That’s why umrah is also known as the ‘minor form of hajj pilgrimage’ or the ‘minor pilgrimage’. As far as umrah travel is concerned, one can travel for it any time of the year because it remains a sunnah ibadah. So, travelling for umrah solely depends on one’s personal preferences. Yet, some times of the year are considered to be more rewarding in this regard such as the month of Ramadan. So, here’s a brief description of the best Umrah travel times of the year.

Ramadan.

Performance of minor pilgrimage during the most sacred month of the Islamic year not only brings infinite blessings from Allah Almighty but also remains a spiritually and religiously rewarding journey for a Muslim. The significance of which can be evaluated by the fact that the Grand Mosque of Makkah witnesses the arrival of millions of pilgrims during Ramadan for umrah rituals. In fact, it’s the busiest time of the year for umrah performance. Consequently, considering the high demand and less availability, most hotels, as well as airlines, increase the prices of their services. So, it is expensive to travel for umrah in Ramadan yet spiritually more rewarding.

Hajj equivalence.

It was narrated by Hazrat Muhammad (SAWW) in a hadith that, umrah performance in Ramadan holds equivalent reward of Hajj. However, one of the things to keep in mind is that umrah performance in Ramadan doesn’t mean that it suffices for your obligatory hajj pilgrimage. It’s only the reward that is equivalent.

Springtime.

Makkah has a hot desert climate where daytime temperature can reach as high as Fifty Degrees Celsius while nights can be pretty chilly. During the day, pilgrims are subjected to experiencing a hard time during summer because of the intense heat and sunlight. Consequently, performing umrah rituals in these situations can be pretty exhausting. That’s why springtime is another best period of the year to opt for umrah performance. The ideal months for it lie between February to May because it’s neither too hot nor too cold in the kingdom during that time. Therefore, a perfect time to visit the holy kingdom for the people travelling from cold climatic regions.

Muharram and Safar.

Despite the holy month of Ramadan, the grand months of the Islamic year; Muharram and Safar are recommended for Umrah travel as they come right after the hajj period gets over. Since Masjid-al-Haram remains heavily occupied during the Hajj season with a crowd of millions of pilgrims, the rush of people, as well as the prices of hotels and airfares, cut down to half as this period concludes. So, if any of you want to perform Umrah rituals with family i.e., in the absence of such a huge crowd of pilgrims, then the grand months of Muharram and Safar are the best option to opt for. These are among the popular times of the year for umrah travel.
