The human resources of a company play an incredibly important role. It’s their job to ensure that the company is able to retain the best talent, which, in turn, helps in the generation of profits. Many professionals like Dave Fox have spent a considerable amount of time working to ensure that human resources within businesses are improved. Dave Fox is a Miami based, Canadian entrepreneur, recruitment and staffing professional and the Chief Executive Officer of Focus Global Talent Solutions. He’s been recognized as a global top Biller for numerous professional performances and contributions while working at the specialist staffing group prior to starting Focus GTS. Here are a few of Dave’s tips to help you manage your company’s human resources.
1) Know Your Employees Well This may seem obvious, but the key to staff management is often a good knowledge of employees. And by knowing the people you work with, it doesn’t just mean that you talk about their training or their technical skills, but also their characters, their aspirations, and even some of their personal problems. It is not easy to take the step into the personal sphere, that is why it is important to make an effort to build a relationship of trust with your employees, a relationship that extends beyond the issues related to the employment of the person. There is indeed a balance to be found between a relationship based on respect for your position and a relationship of friendship. Your employees must be able to trust you while remaining in a relationship of subordination as it’s essential if you want your managerial decisions are respected. Once you have made sure you know your employees from a professional point of view as well as from a personal point of view, the organization of work and the distribution of tasks will be simplified. You will have, in fact, the tools to ensure the fulfilment and therefore, the commitment of everyone in the execution of the task.
2) Listen and Communicate The complexity of the second stage lies in the establishment of regular communication between managers and their employees. Always keep in mind that if your employees owe you their productivities, you must, on your side, keep them informed of their efficiency levels. If you take the first step, your employees will be less reluctant to come and tell you about certain feelings or ideas, especially if you are a non-traditional management that is open to anything employees want to say. This approach of building what we will call an internal communication aims to bring out a corporate culture based on humanistic values. In this way, your employees will identify with the identity of the company and its strategy and become more involved in their work.
