Tension headache is the most common primary headache. Stress often leads to this type of headache. The pain generally turns up in the neck and the scalp muscles leading the pain on both the sides. It is found more common among the adults.

Tension Headache

This triggers leads to contraction of neck and scalp muscles leading to tension headache and neck pain too. One should avoid the triggers as to cure such type of headache.

Symptoms:-

Though tension headache is not a serious disease but it is not healthy at all to get regular headaches due to stress. So, to stay away from headache, one must keep himself/herself aware about the following symptoms:-

• A constant pain in the front and sides of the head.

• Muscular pain in the head and the neck.

• Lack of concentration and focus.

• Irritation

• A little sensitivity to light or sound.

• Drowsy or exhausted

Thus, tension headache is different from migraine headache in many ways like tension headache doesn’t cause nausea or vomiting as it is in migraine. The pain in tension headache is on the both the sides whereas in migraine it is majorly on one side. But sometimes tension headache may cause photophobia (sensitivity to bright light) and photophobia (sensitivity to loud sound) same as in migraine.

Does High Blood Pressure Cause Headaches?

Yes high blood pressure can cause headaches because it affects the blood-brain barrier.
