Bangladesh U19 defeated India U19 to win their maiden ICC title

On Sunday 9th, the Akbar Ali led Bangladesh Under 19 team defeated the defending champions India U19 to win their maiden ICC trophy at the Senwes Park, Potchefstroom. The Bangladesh U19 team won the finals with 23 balls to spare as the target was revised due to the DLS method as the rain was constantly interrupting the game. The Bangladesh National Cricket Team chased down the target of 170 in 42.1 overs.

The Indian National Cricket Team who had won the ICC Cricket World Cup U19 title for the fourth time failed in the fifth time. The Indian team failed to set a decent target for the Bangla Tiger and only one of their batsmen scored a fifty (Yashasvi Jaiswal - 88), and no other batsmen reached to the mark of 40 and the team set the target of 178 runs.

The Bangladesh team batsmen had a good start but after their openers gone they started struggling but their captain Akbar Ali hold the nerves till the end and helped his team to their maiden ICC tile with his knock of 43* off 77 balls.

India’s Yashasvi Jaiswal who scored 400 runs in the tournament was named Player of the Tournament and Akbar Ali was named Player of the Match in the finals.
