Indian cricket captain might be having a not so great New Zealand tour but he still has got supports from a lot of people. Recently when a Sri Lankan journalist criticized and tried to troll Virat Kohli for his last few performances, a former English cricketer came up to show his support for Kohli.

Virat Kohli failed to register any half-century in the T20I series in New Zealand. The ODI series saw him scoring one in the first fixture but the off-form continued again. The first Test in wellington that India lost terribly, the captain could not play a valuable innings. No wonder he is being criticized and trolled. Apart from fans there are many journalists, experts, and former cricketers who are criticizing the skipper and his team.

Daniel Alexander, a Sri Lankan journalist is known to be one of the biggest critics of Indian cricket. On this occasion, Alexander took to Twitter and termed Kohli as over-rated. He wrote, “19, 2, 9, 15, 51, 11, 38, 11, 45 – Virat Kohli’s scores in New Zealand series 2020 (all 3 formats). #Cricket Inns – 9 Runs – 201 Ave – 22.33 50 – 1 *Steve Smith, Babar Azam & Kane Williamson top three all format batsmen and score in all conditions. Kohli over-rated.”

Former England player supports Kohli

Amongst Kohli’s fans, a few experts came up as well to oppose Alexander. A notable name to support Virat Kohli on this issue was Alex Tudor. Tudor is a former England all-rounder. Tudor represented England in 10 Tests and three ODIs. He has 229 runs to his name along with 28 wickets. Tudor responded to Alexander’s tweet and wrote that Kohli just had one bad tour. He also slammed Alexander for such post. “Overrated are you just looking for people to hit up your timeline one bad tour & people coming for the great man.”
