Vegetable rava upma recipe is a very popular breakfast dish in many parts of India. It is a dish that is cheap to make, nutritious, and filling.
Let’s just get started with knowing how to make suji upma.
Take a cup of suji and dry roast it in a non-stick pan. When the color turns to little golden turn the flame off and keep it to cool.
Take another pan and put some oil in it. Once the oil id hot add 1 spoon of mustard seeds and let them crackle.
To this add 3 slit green chili, about an inch chopped ginger, pinch of hing powder.
Add 2 small finely chopped onion. Add some salt to taste.
Cook them till they get translucent.
Add a pinch of turmeric to give the color to the suji upma recipe.
Add a teaspoon of chili powder. Mix it well.
Add finely chopped carrot and french beans.
Add half a cup of fresh peas. Give it a good mix.
Add a little bit of water. It will help cook the vegetables. Cook it up for 3 minutes.
Now add your dry roasted suji into the cooked vegetables and mix them thoroughly. Now again add some water.
The ratio that should be followed to cook the vegetable rava upma recipe is 1:2. So one cup of suji and two cups of water.
Keep in mind this ratio while cooking suji upma.
After adding water, give it a good stir and add a spoon of ghee.
Add some coriander leaves and that’s it breakfast to be served is ready in just a few minutes.
You can use whatever vegetable you like in this recipe. If you feel like you don’t want too many vegetables, you can do that as well. For kids you can prepare upma recipe with fewer vegetables yet healthy meals.
