Car maintenance is essential to keep your car performing up to the mark and stay with you longer than its expected life. You need to keep yourself updated about the condition of your vehicle by taking it for regular servicing and checkups. While you may think that getting your car serviced every 3 months is time-consuming and expensive, you will have to pay a much higher cost if you don’t invest your time and money on your car when it is needed. When you take your car for servicing, you are given a job sheet where you have to mention everything you want to be checked during the maintenance. If you want cheap car servicing at the best quality, here are the must-check things you should mention on the job sheet for the mechanic.

Engine Oil

Oil works for the car as oxygen works for our body. Engine oil should be of an optimal level so that the vehicle can run as smoothly as it has to. Make sure that you check the mileage that your engine has covered before giving your car for servicing and ask for an oil top-up only if the recommended mileage has reached. If you think that oil change is needed, mention that as well because oil change will cost you more than oil top-up. Make sure all the parts of the engine are well-lubricated so that you enjoy a smooth driving experience without any strutting.

Coolant Levels And Other Fluids

Fluids such as transmission fluid, brake fluids, suspension fluids, and coolant level must also be checked thoroughly. As the weather is changing, you must make sure that the coolant fluid is full so that your car doesn’t get heated up under the hood. If you haven’t checked the radiator for too long now, you can also go for coolant system flushing for the removal of all the contaminants and debris from the radiator.

Lights

Your vehicle should have all the lights in proper working condition, but it is easy to ignore them because you usually get away without any trouble with the traffic police. However, you are never lucky all the time. You need to make sure that the headlights, backlights, turn signal lights, and indicator lights are working as it is for your own safety. When taking your car for servicing, do ask the mechanic to check all the lights as well.

Tyre Pressure

You keep a check on your fuel tank, engine oil, and other things, but do you check your tyres even once in a while? Always mention it to your mechanic to check the tyre pressure and depth of tread so that they will stay levelled up. Do not ignore the fact that your tyres lose almost one pound on every drive. Before your tyre reaches the condition where it only has to be replaced, keep their pressure optimal for long-term use. Different tyres need different pressure level depending on your car model. Do check your vehicle’s manual for the recommended pressure.
