Black Widow Team Reveals First Look of OT Fagbenle’s Character

The Marvel Studio uncovers the first look of Mason, the character of the upcoming movie Black Widow. Black Widow is an upcoming superhero movie based on the Marvel comics. The film is distributed by Walt Disney Studio Motion Pictures and directed by Marvel Studios. Eric Pearson has written the screenplay of the movie and is directed by Cate Shortland. The film stars Scarlett Johansson, David Harbour, William Hurt, Florence Pugh, Rachel Weisz, and Ray Winstone. Johansson will be playing the title role of Black Widow. Black Widow was initially scheduled to release in May 2020 but delayed twice due to the pandemic COVID-19. Later the film is rescheduled for 7 May 2021 release in the United States. Black Widow will be the first installment in the fourth phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film will also provide the long waiting solo adventure of Natasha Romanoff. The movie will follow around the tragic death of the character in the Endgame. The plot will take place between two years of Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War. 2021 prequel will introduce the previous life of Natasha before she became the S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent and ultimately an Avenger. Along with Natasha, the film will also include Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova, Rachel Weisz’s Melina, and David Harbour’s Alexei Shoskatov/Red Guardian. However, the character of Fagbenle, Mason, has been largely absent from the film’s marketing. Recently fans got some recent photos of Mason from the set of the film. The images are officially shared from the account of Official Movie Special Book (via @Bob89507867). The post includes pictures of Mason and some snaps of Natasha from behind the shoot snaps and promo stills. The tweet is captioned with, “MORE BLACK WIDOW PHOTOS.” Marvel Studios has always excluded Mason from the Black Widow marketing. There is little information about the character in the franchise. The only detail the plot gives about Mason is that he is Natasha’s old colleague from S.H.I.E.L.D. He also has romantic feelings for Natasha. However, the photos do not provide any further and new information about the character in the narrative. The shared pictures, though, reveal the idea that Mason likes Natasha. The studio has still kept his identity a mystery, fueling the rumors that he might play Taskmaster’s role. The movie production started in February 2004, and David Hayter joined the franchise as director and writer in the same year. Initially, Emily Blunt was considered for the role of Black Widow, but she left the character because of her commitment to Gulliver’s Travels. Later Scarlett Johansson was signed to play Natasha Romanoff/ Black Widow. The project underwent development hell and renewed in 2019 after hiring Ned Benson to rewrite the script. The marketing team of Black Widow has stretched out too long, and anything more than that could spoil the movie for the audience. The release date of the movie is yet too far.
