The veteran director has revealed in one of his interviews that he loves exploring different cities and cultures. Christopher Nolan’s tenth feature film, Tenet, was shot in several areas of Asia. Celebrated film director Christopher Nolan feels some parts of the continent are staggeringly “visual” and have an incredible “history,” and that is what compelled him to shoot his latest featurette there. “Tenet” has already been released in more than 70 more countries in August, and that includes the United States. The plot of the movie is complicated and as it can be expected from a Christopher Nolan film, but in simple terms, it is a global espionage thriller that deals with time-bending in some sense. The film features John David Washington in the lead role. The son of Denzel Washington and Pauletta Washington has appeared in the 2018 movie, The Old Man & The Gun. The Old Man & The Gun is based on the true story of a seasoned criminal. In Tenet, he is supported by the likes of Elizabeth Debicki, Robert Pattinson, Clemence Poesy, Michael Caine, and Dimple Kapadia. Aaron Taylor Johnson and Kenneth Branagh are probably the nemeses of John David Washington’s character. Kenneth Branagh plays the role of the prime antagonist named “Sator.” Christopher Nolan, in the company of his trusted cinematographer Hoyte van Hoytema, did the principal photography of the film in countries such as Denmark, Italy, India, the UK, the US, and Estonia. In Asia, the shooting was planned across the time span of five days, and the likes of Robert Pattinson and John David Washington did fly down to do their required bits. The veteran director shared his thoughts via a recorded transcript, which was given to PTI by Warner Bros. After a development span of two decades, Nolan’s time-bending science fiction movie was released in theatre as one of the first major blockbuster movies, just as the lockdown was relaxed. The movie has grossed $57 million in the US and Canada, along with $300 million in other territories, and around $357 million worldwide. According to the director, “One of my favorite shots in the film, which is a bit of a throwaway, is the shot looking down from the bow of the boat where you see the waves running backward.” Nolan added that he enjoyed working with local crews whom he needed to pull off some stunts, which we see in the film.
