Most people who write sermons always feel like they are holding back a bit. The want is to go no-holds-barred into any sermon and say what needs to be said. However, as we all know, there is what you want to say and then what needs to be said in order to do what is right for your ministry or church. What should not change is the overall message that you deliver to the audience. You are part of the great commission and you need to uphold your message to that light. Some things are not comfortable to say but you need to say them. Of course, you need to pray and ask for guidance about what you should be saying to people. Your boss is the one true boss. What He says goes. Therefore, you need to make sure that you keep your connection strong and grounded in the Bible. If you do that then you are doing everything you can to make sure that your sermon is up to the standards of the head office.

Another thing you need to consider is that your voice is unique. We are not just talking about your own speaking voice. Ostensibly, we are also talking about the content of your sermons. The content and delivery are uniquely yours. What does that mean? It means that you were uniquely chosen to speak to certain segments of the community. Your message is specifically crafted to help someone else out there get on the right path. It means that you, despite what you feel somedays, are extremely important and critical to someone's future. The mere fact of doing your sermon outline is important. You using that sermon to deliver that message is important. Your choice to record it and put it on the internet may change someone's life. It may not be now and it could be ten years down the line. It does not diminish the fact that your words are important and your voice was specifically chosen to convert them to being a believer. The truth is that it is your voice and only your voice that can do that needed and ordained conversion. Therefore, doing your best to create your best sermons is not only your privilege but also your obligation. You are needed and necessary. There is, literally, no one else out there who can do what you can do and you were chosen to help someone live the right way.

Subsequently, your sermon outlines are what are going to help you deliver an effective sermon that you were preordained to give. That sermon will convert someone out there at some point as long as it exists in a capacity where someone can access it. You will not be able to predict who and when this piece of audio or visual material will do its job. In fact, you may not even know that it was effective because the people whose lives will change may live thousands of miles away from you. They may also live in a totally different time or even years into the future. Remember, that the internet is pretty much a close to forever as we can get. That means anything released on the internet will probably be around for a long time. A good thing because that means your ministry may have legs long after you have stopped giving sermons.
