Worship backgrounds are essential accessories of any worship leader and it's definitely not easy to pick one out from the huge selection available in the marketplace today. Each worship group should have its own worship background, and its own choice of colors and designs. This is not so much of a matter of decoration but more of an issue of consistency and unity. You cannot have unity and then go about worshiping in different ways without having an image that represents your church or religious sect. Many people often make the mistake of picking up very gaudy backgrounds that are meant to please the eyes and ears but which in fact have no connection whatsoever to the message they are trying to convey. Worship backgrounds should be such that people are drawn into them and want to learn more and are able to relate to them.

Otherwise, it's a waste of time. They may as well just not attend all. When people attend church services, especially in a religious service, they are required to be present for some length of time. Therefore, it's important that the people feel like they are comfortable in the surroundings. In fact, the discomfort level increases with every turn and each loud noise. This is not the time to try to attract people's attention with flashy backgrounds. Instead, choose something that will not jar anyone's mind and that is not distracting at all.

People need to relax and be in a state of mind when they are listening to hymns or praise songs. It doesn't even matter whether you use electronically recorded music or live acoustic music. What matters is that people can sit back and listen to the sounds and the words without being disturbed by any unnecessary background noises or activities. Even if the environment is decorated with beautiful objects or fabrics, it's pointless if it distracts people from what they are trying to do - praise and worship.

Worship backgrounds can have a certain length. It doesn't necessarily have to be long, just as long as it allows all the people in the congregation to have equal opportunity to view the picture on the screen. Some churches opt to have the longest duration of the presentation, while others prefer to have it shorter. It depends on the message that you want to convey. The important thing is that people can sit back and relax.

Worship background music should be attractive and pleasing to the ears, as well. It should have a melodic quality that is understandable and enjoyable. The majority of today's Christian music has been recorded using expensive instruments and has a melodic quality. It is therefore best if you choose a song that pleases the ear and has an appropriate musical background. The appropriate worship backgrounds can convey your message more effectively.
