Indian Railways Cancels 100+ Covid-19 special Trains Due To Cyclone Yaas – RailRecipe Report

Even as India struggles to get back to normalcy after the powerful Cyclone Tauktae (Speed:185 KMP/H) hit its Western Ghat (Goa, Mumbai, Kerala, and Gujarat) a week ago, a strong cyclone Yaas is on its way to the Eastern Ghat (Bengal and Odisha). The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has said the deep depression over the Bay of Bengal has intensified into cyclonic storm 'Yaas' and is likely to cross the Odisha-West Bengal coasts on May 26 (Evening) after turning into a very severe cyclonic storm. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has said Cyclone Yaas speed is near about 175-185 KM/H. The Odisha state government rushed a large contingent of rescue and relief teams to Balasore district bordering West Bengal on Monday 24th May 2021 where the very severe cyclonic storm Yaas is likely to make landfall. Cyclone Yaas now located around 520 km South-SouthEast of Paradip (in Odisha) is very likely to intensify further into severe cyclonic storm during the next 12 hours, and subsequent 24 hours, it will intensify into very severe cyclonic storm. The Bengal state government and Odisha state government are on high alert for the very severe cyclonic storm Yaas heading their way from the Bay of Bengal and likely to make landfall late on Wednesday 26 May 2021. The bihar metrological department has issued a blue alert in connection with the very severe cyclonic storm Yaas taking formation in the Bay of Bengal and expected to make landfall in neighbouring Odisha-West Bengal over the next 24 hours.
