Types of email accounts


It is important to start with the basics, mentioning that email accounts can be of two types: corporate and personal.

Corporate email


This type of email is ideal if you have a business, are a freelancer, or are part of a company; A corporate email, in addition to helping with your information organization, also helps you to look more professional regardless of your line of work. In the same way, with a corporate email, you can centralize and manage the information more easily, separating the work from the personal.

Personal email


This email is more informal and is perfect for many activities on the web. You can register on pages or sites that interest you or social networks. It is also the perfect medium to maintain communication with family and friends.

Types of email servers


Just as there are corporate and personal emails, there are, from a technical point of view, two types of email: emails with outgoing servers and with incoming servers. What does it mean that some are input and others are output? The outgoing servers are in charge of taking the email that is in the outbox to the incoming secure fast servers, which are the ones that deliver the email to the recipient's inbox.

Output Servers


SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol): it is the most used of the servers, what it does is send your mail to the servers of your service provider (Google Workspace, Microsoft, OX Suite, Yahoo, etc.), to later send it to another email account that can be from the same provider or any other.

Incoming servers


POP3 (Post Office Protocol): it is one of the oldest and most used that exists. This protocol downloads the email to the first device it connects with, which means that once downloaded, the email is deleted from the server. These emails cannot be accessed with more than one device.
IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol): it is a more "current" protocol, its main difference compared to the previous one is that the messages delivered will remain on the server, which will allow you to access them with more than one device.
Exchange: This incoming server, as the name suggests, belongs to Microsoft. It is considered an improved version of Imap and allows mail connectivity with its applications, such as contact books and calendars, among other things.

Types of email providers.


A large number of brands and suppliers offer emails with different quality and functionality, seeking to offer the customer what they really need. Next, I will present you with 4 options that you have to take into account.
1. Gmail- Google Workspace Google ranks high in email usage. In addition, it stands out for offering its users organizational resources as well as the functionality to eliminate spam and other invasive emails.
2. Outlook- Microsoft Outlook mail (formerly "Hotmail") is one of the most popular. It is currently among the most used in the world and is part of the daily use of Microsoft applications, either online or on PC.
3. Yahoo! Mail Did you think Yahoo! Mail no longer existed? Well, you are wrong. This email is still one of the most used and currently offers several interesting updates, including the option to create disposable emails that allow greater privacy. This email service requires constant use, since, if your account has no activity for 4 months or more, it will be deleted.
4. OX App Suite is not only an email service but it is also a platform where you can manage multiple emails on the same screen. This is especially useful for those who use two or more accounts and need to manage them in a personalized way.
As I mentioned at the beginning, emails have to be considered basic tools for the job and, at the same time, reliable and versatile tools that can be used as part of a contact strategy with potential clients. This is known as email marketing. What types are there?
Types of email marketing Relational emails
Their main objective is to create a relationship with the public through valuable content. The most convenient thing is to send emails with content according to the types of customers who will receive them, offering variety and useful content to capture their attention.
A clear example of this type of email is when newsletters, surveys, congratulations, welcome or thanks, etc. have been subscribed and received.

Promotional emails


These emails are not necessarily created with the objective of selling something, they can also be used to incentivize a specific action. As in relational emails, segmentation is an important step to ensure your success.
In this case, a very clear example is free trials or an offer under certain conditions.

Transactional emails


As the name implies, these emails involve a transaction between two parties, which means that emails are sent in response to an action carried out by the recipient, be it email confirmations, recovering passwords, or even a receipt that has been generated.
