As the rearranged Euro 2020 competition approaches, and Europe's best prepare to battle it out, the Mirror breaks down some of the most exciting young talents from the tournament to keep an eye on
After a jam-packed season some of the world’s best players descend on Europe for the rearranged Euro 2020 competition.
This will include some of the world’s best players like Kylian Mbappe heading up a heavily tipped France team, or Erling Haaland leading an underdog Denmark team.
Alongside them, Cristiano Ronaldo returns for one of his last chances at national glory.
But, it’s not just the big names that will light up this tournament, every international competition sees previously unknown stars establishing themselves on the world stage.
The Mirror spotlights ten players to look out for at Euro 2020.
Bayern Munich’s youngest ever player has had a good first season after transferring from Chelsea aged 16 in 2019.
Scoring seven goals and impressing on the pitch, the youngster chose his birthplace, Germany, over where he grew up, England, and has already made it into the national squad.
An attacker who can play anywhere across the frontline, he’s one to keep an eye on for his dribbling ability and finishing.
Ryan Gravenberch
The latest in a long line of talents out of the Ajax academy, the 19-year-old midfielder has impressed for Ajax this season.
The youngster came on to feature in the Netherlands’ 2-2 draw against Scotland.
Whilst he isn’t as flashy as some other players on this list, the starlet has been tipped by a former Dutch coach Aad De Mos to be a world class player, and in a midfield alongside the likes of Frenkie De Jong and Georginio Wijnaldum he’ll only improve this summer.
Nico Elvedi
Like the stereotypes about his home country Switzerland, Elvedi is both accurate and reliable.
The 24-year-old centre-back has become a key part of the Swiss national team, comfortable on the ball and impressive in winning his duels.
Elvedi has played every single competitive game for Sweden since the start of 2019-20, and he’ll be vital for them in the Euros.
Dani Olmo
The 23-year-old attacking midfield maestro has just finished off a successful season at RB Leipzig that saw him as the Bundesliga runner up’s main creator.
Olmo learned his craft at La Masia and has impressed under Julian Nagelsmann’s team this year playing in a central role behind the striker.
With five league goals and ten assists this season, Olmo made it into a cut Spanish team which saw the likes of Sergio Ramos snubbed.
Mikel Oyarzabal
It took the left-footed winger only a year to go from Real Sociedad’s under-19s, to the Spanish national team.
The Basque county native has impressed globally at only 23-years-old and attracted attention from some of the best teams.
Despite this, he’s shown no intention of leaving his hometown club yet, and looks poised to play an important role in what could be a dangerous Spanish side.
Joao Felix
The €126million man, Joao Felix has been a part of the La Liga winning Atletico Madrid side this year, bagging six goals and seven assists in the league at only 21-years-old.
A lot is hoped of the youngster, and in a team boasting the likes of Cristiano Ronald and Bruno Fernandes, Portugal could pose an outside threat of winning the Euros.
Playing in a deeper striker role, he poses a threat playing between the lines often favouring the left side of the pitch, supporting Luis Suarez this season.
Gianluigi Donnarumma

Already a household name for many, Donnarumma became the AC Milan first-team keeper aged just sixteen.
Since then he’s only improved and as Italy enter their first tournament without his namesake and country’s icon, Gianluigi Buffon, his role will be more vital than ever for his country.
The talented shot stopper comes into the tournament already in the midst of transfer speculation, having walked out on AC Milan, with a move to PSG on the cards.
Dejan Kulusevski
The 21-year-old Swede has impressed for Juventus this season with his vision and skill from either the right-flank, or attacking midfield down the middle.
Kulusevski came through the Atalanta academy before making his name on a loan move to Parma.
The talented, attacking winger will be a key part of a Sweden team looking to improve on the quarter-finals.
Ozan Kabak
The Turkey defender spent the second half of last season on loan at Liverpool, but is now returning to Schalke after the Reds elected not to take up their purchase option.
However, Kabak has no intention of remaining in Gelsenkirchen, having seen Die Konigsblauen fall to relegation last term.
He'll be looking to make the most of any opportunities at these finals, to put himself in the shop window for a summer move.
Pedri
Pedri, full name Pedro Gonzalez, is already lighting up screens across European football.
At a Barcelona team full of talent but transitioning, he has already impressed and the stock the club puts in him is reflected in the £400million exit clause in his contract.
In the years since Xavi and Iniesta left the Camp Nou there have been many midfielders touted as their successors, but none have excited quite like Pedri.
Alexander Isak
Another Swedish attacking talent, Isak is one of a number of young strikers lighting up Europe.
The Raul Sociedad star, a Sweden team lacking talisman and quotes-machine Zlatan Ibrahimovic they will be looking to Isak for goals.
With 17 goals and two assists in 34 league appearances, he comes in off an impressive La Liga season and is expected to do well in Sweden’s counter-attacking set up.
