One of the best power towers for home use, as in my house, is a set from Interpower, which are a very popular manufacturer, and their outdoor WiFi fitness equipment, at least the Gyms that I know of, are of very high quality and very reasonably priced. The Gyms themselves range from pretty low budget to high end, and with a selection and price range that anyone can find, they appeal to everyone.

And then there are the other power towers that range from a basic heart rate monitor, with the optional monitors for speed and calories burned and other factors, to expensive and high tech gadgets that can run many other things on the same system, and I suspect there are even some nice home gyms out there that don't really advertise much. And then there are the internet broadband internet options, like speed-boosters, Wi-Fi for the computer and the whole house (or at least the basement and main room) for the whole family.

Of course, all these items, and the exercises they can be used for, have their place, especially if you want to add them to an already existing home gym that you could simply have set up yourself. But I think in general the best option is to start with a piece of property with a room for a power tower. In my opinion, this makes it easier to get to any exercises you want because there is no need to get into the basement or main room to do it. You can do the exercises wherever you want, and at any time. And that, to me, is the real advantage of power towers, apart from being able to set up your own home gym.

So what are some good exercises you can do with a power tower? One exercise that is often overlooked, is the seated dip. In fact, it's probably one of the most overlooked exercises when it comes to strength training. But the seated dip is great because it targets many muscles at once, using many muscles at the same time, and does the most effective job of resistance training. The dips are not just done by beginners either, as even experienced fitness buffs can do a seated dip with some good results. I won't go into great detail about how to do the exercise, other than to say, start off doing it slowly and let yourself do the exercise for a few seconds before getting a spotter, who will help hold your head and ensure you don't fall off.

There are lots more options you can do with your home gym when it comes to strength training. Power towers are great for that and much more. However, before you purchase one, make sure you know exactly how much space you have, and how much space you'll need outside of the tower too. That way, you can pick one that meets your needs but also takes up the least space possible. Don't forget, also, that a lot of the exercises you'll perform with a power tower will be things that require a lot of space, so look for something that's big enough to house your power rack, and enough room for you to move around with it.
