If you have seen the video that tells the story of Blumenaria, you will know that flowers have always been present in my life, always by my side. But it was during my eight years in Germany that I fell in love with the everyday value of flowers. I tell you.

Shortly after arriving in Germany, I realized that people there buy flowers in Israel florists and usual way, without waiting for this or that occasion; As I always say, they include them on their shopping list for the week: fruit, vegetables, bread, and flowers. Because yes, because flowers are part of their day-to-day. And because I think that, in a way, buying flowers is dedicating time to yourself; is to make a hole in the agenda to enjoy yourself; almost to celebrate you. This floral culture that you feel and breathe there is what I wanted to bring with me to Segovia.

But I continue. During my early years in Germany, I bought flowers at the florist on the way home from work. Not that it was a remarkable florist, but I do remember how amazed I was the first day when I saw the variety of flowers it had (I had never seen so many colors and shapes before). There were days when I bought some loose flowers and took them to work. Why not, if it was the place where he spent the most time?

And, more than decorating, what flowers do is transform a space: they create a cozy atmosphere, lift your spirits and make you smile as you walk through the door, believe me.

Then I started working in — surprise — a family flower shop. I spent the day in the store among carnations, lilies, amaryllis flowers, and a smell of freshness that I do not forget, designing bouquets and arrangements that we later sold. During that time, I took flowers from the store or bought them every week or every fortnight, depending on how long they lasted; I put them on the bedside table, in the hall, in the living room, even put a violet in the bathroom. I played with the small space of my apartment and the variety of shapes and colors that were available. Buying flowers for me was bringing a bit of nature and light home. And, just like when we sit in the sun or are in contact with nature, flowers can make us feel good almost immediately.

As I was saying, I came from Germany with the illusion of creating a floral culture in Segovia. And it is that flowers can be in your life, in your day to day, in a much more everyday way, without there being a special reason. Well, yes, there is a reason: just because; because sometimes we forget how valuable the present moment is. Do I need to tell you something else?
