What are the causes behind the error code B200 in your Canon printer?

If you have encountered an error code, then there is a possibility of both internal as well as external errors. For an error code to occur, there are several reasons, which are unclear until you look at the possibilities. With the reference of informing Canon users, we have gathered some of the reasons. It will help you identify the basic reason that is causing problems in your printer. Once you have figured out the basic reason, you can easily sort out which solution should be applied to the problem.

Given the fact of needing a root cause, let’s talk about the B200 error code in the Canon printer. The error code B200 represents a problem in the printhead of the printer. For people who are not familiar with the concept of the printhead or any internal parts of the printer, you should know what it is actually. The printhead is known as the part that dispenses from the cartridges on the papers. The fact that it is designed to distribute the ink, it is pretty much clear how much importance this part holds in the printer. Usually, printheads are considered the most complicated and problematic part, especially when you have cheaper printers. However, there are other possibilities as well, which are as follows:

  • The printhead might be placed incorrectly.
  • Any remaining pieces of paper might be causing the problem.
  • The printhead might have collected dirt particles.
  • There might be a rise in the temperature of the printhead.
  • The printhead might be damaged or have become worn out.
  • The error code also represents an issue with the cartridges.

Your Canon printer is designed with either 4+ cartridges or 2 cartridges. In case you acquire a printer with 4+ cartridges, then you should have a look at method 1. And if you acquire a printer with 2 cartridges, then you should have a look at method 2. Let’s see what the solutions are.

Method 1: For Printers with 4+ cartridges

Step 1: As the first step, you need to remove all the cartridges. To do this, open your printer, and cradles in the cartridge will start to move into the position where you can remove them. You need to take out all individual cartridges from your printer.

Step 2: In the second step, you need to remove the printhead. If you have found the issue in the printhead, you should remove it by accessing the grey/orange-looking lever. You will find this lever on the side of the cartridge cradle and will help to remove the printhead easily.

Step 3: Next step involves reinstalling the print head. Once you have removed the printhead, you need to clean it properly, then place it back in its position.

Step 4: After you have installed the printhead, you need to reinstall the cartridges. You need to make sure that you don’t leave them hanging without adjusting properly in their slots. Now the printer will start reading the cartridges and the printhead.

Step 5: In this step, you need to restart the printer by following the given instructions. Start by unplugging the printer from the power source, and let it rest for a few minutes. Now the printhead and the cartridge slots would have been cooled off after a few minutes of rest. Then you can plug the printer back into the wall socket.

Step 6: In this step, you need to perform a nozzle check to make sure that the correct cartridges have been replaced in the printer. Once you have confirmed the status of everything, you can proceed to complete your printing jobs.

Method 2: For Two Cartridges

Step 1: In this step, you need to restart the printer, as you cannot disembark the cartridge cradle from its location while the printer is in an error state. So, when you restart the printer, it removes the error code temporarily, which lets us deal with the problem. You need to turn it off and then turn it on after a few minutes.

Step 2: In this, find out which cartridges are troubling the printer, and then remove it.

Step 3: Now, you need to replace the cartridge. As you know that the printhead plays a vital role in the printer. You need to replace the cartridges with a working one to replace the printhead.

Step 4: Now, perform a nozzle check to make sure that everything is placed in its position perfectly and working.
