‘Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award’

New Delhi: The Modi government has taken a big decision regarding the Khel Ratna award. The Modi Government has renamed the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award as Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award. Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself tweeted this information.
On Friday, PM Modi tweeted, "We are amazed at the great efforts of Indian athletes in all the Olympic Games." The willpower shown by our sons and daughters, especially in hockey, to win, is a great inspiration for present and future generations.
PM Modi further said that in the midst of making the country feel proud, the request of the countrymen has come out that the name of Khel Ratna award should be dedicated to Major Dhyan Chand ji. In view of the sentiments of the people, it is now being named as Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award. Jai Hind! '
