Laser marking technology has made its mark in numerous industries. The medical, aerospace, automotive, and electronics industries use the technique for marking different substrates like stone, ceramics, glass, and metal.
There are two forms of laser marking adhesives used to produce everlasting, durable, and precise marks; laser marking ink and laser marking spray.
Want to know which one is the best?
Let’s compare!
Laser marking ink is cost-efficient as it costs $0.01 or less per square inch depending on its container whereas laser marking ink costs about $0.03 per square inch. Anyhow, laser marking spray is pre-mixed and ready to use as compared to laser marking ink that is concentrated and needs dilution. The aerosol spray is used for high-speed laser marking while testing and evaluating processes. The ink, on the other hand, is used over large surfaces. The ink needs to be diluted by denatured alcohol before application which enhances the workload.
To conclude, laser marking spray requires less effort before the application process. The only focus point while using spray remains the required coating thickness of about 0.001”- 0.002”. Whereas dealing with ink is a long process that needs the correct amount of dilution and later application. Hence, using laser marking spray is a better choice for marking the products.
