Endoscopic Facelift FAQs

What is Endoscopic Facelift? An endoscopic facelift is a cosmetic procedure designed to assist individuals to achieve tighter, younger-looking facial features but in a less invasive manner than the traditional facelift. It incorporates the use of an endoscope (a long thin tube with a camera at the end) which allows our experienced Board Certified Plastic Surgeons adequate visualization of the facial structure without having to make extended incisions.

What is the difference between an Endoscopic Facelift and a Traditional Facelift?

Both the traditional facelift and endoscopic facelift work to lift and tighten sagging facial features along with smoothing wrinkles. However, the key difference between the two facelift techniques is the type of incisions made. While the traditional facelift relies on extended incisions to view and reach the facial structure, the endoscopic facelift utilizes tiny incisions together with the endoscope and telescopic instruments to remove fatty tissue and tighten sagging facial muscles to result in a firmer well-contoured appearance. On the other hand, the endoscopic facelift does not address the issue of excess skin, whereas the traditional facelift, does.

Who is the ideal candidate for an Endoscopic Facelift in Dubai?

Ideal candidates for the endoscopic are individuals in their 30s, 40s, and 50s with moderate amounts of sagging skin. This procedure is however not recommended for individuals with pronounced signs of aging.

How long does the procedure last?

Generally, facelift surgery can take between two to four hours to perform depending on what is being corrected and the Plastic Surgeon’s approach.

What type of anesthesia is used during this procedure? In Dubai, local anesthesia with sedation is usually used during endoscopic facelifts.

How long is the recovery period?

The recovery is usually about two weeks as most of the swelling and bruising have subsided by this time, and most individuals can resume normal activities.

Will I have scarring after this procedure?

The scarring is quite minimal as only tiny incisions are made during the procedure. The incisions are well hidden above and behind the ears and behind the hairline, hence it will be hard to spot them. Are the results permanent?

The results are long-lasting but not permanent. They can last for the next 5-15 years depending on how well you take care of yourself, but they will be affected by the normal continued aging and gravity.

Are there alternatives to Endoscopic Facelift?

Alternatives to endoscopic facelifts include the traditional facelift which can involve the neck lift and brow lift. Other procedures are eyelid surgery and injectables.

What other procedures can be done along with Endoscopic Facelift to make the results better?

To make the results of the endoscopic facelift better, Dermal fillers can be used to add volume where it is lost and Botox to smooth fine lines and wrinkles resulting in a rejuvenated younger-looking you. To Know More
