There are many types of resistance bands available in the market, so it is essential for you to understand which one is correct.

Stretch bands

These bands are suitable for you if you want to use them for pre or post work out warm-up or to enhance your mobility while having physiotherapy or rehabilitation. Stretch bands are not recommended for heavy-lift or intense workouts.

Pull-up bands

Pull-up bands are long loops with a higher resistance than the stretch bands, and thus, they are used in power lifting and pull-ups. These bands can also be used if you want to modify your regular pull-ups, bicep curls, shoulder presses etc.

Toning tubes/bands

These bands are not flat and longitudinal like the pull-up or stretch bands. They are in a tube form with handles on either side, offering you a range of movements for different exercises such as fat burn, weight loss, muscles gain training etc. They come in different varieties in terms of size and resistance, such as small, medium and large.

Mini bands

These bands come in comparatively smaller loops and are used to upgrade the upper and lower body workouts. They range from lightest to heaviest, and they are colour coded based on their resistance level. These bands can be used at the beginner level, and the advanced level or can even be combined to challenge you more, and this way, they provide you full-body resistance band workout.

Things to remember while buying resistance bands

So it is essential to check the length of your band before purchasing it. If you are buying the resistance band online, you can check its length in its product description.

Their resistance level

Depending upon the level of your workout, you should choose your resistance bands based on their tension level. If you are a beginner, go for a less resisting band, and at an advanced level, you can go for higher resistance. Generally, resistance bands are colour coded according to their resistance level, and thus, you should check them according to the specific colour coding system of that particular brand.

Style of the band

As discussed earlier, not all resistance bands are in loops; different types focus on different types of exercises. This makes sure which kind of exercise you are focusing on and selects your band according to that.

Before you utilize something, you should have a proper knowledge about it, and now you know very well what you have to keep in your mind when you go to buy a resistance band. Know your priorities, select your type and then buy the precise band for yourself.
