Luxor Attractions Hatshepsut Temple, or The Funerary Temple of Hatshepsut, is a temple of the 18th Egyptian dynasty, and the best of the most surviving temples built about 3,500 years ago. It was built by Queen Hatshepsut on the west bank of the Nile opposite Taiba (the capital of ancient Egypt and the place of worship of Amun) (Luxor today). Hatshepsut's temple has its own unique architectural design compared to the Egyptian temples that were built on the east bank of the Nile in Taibeh. The temple consists of three successive floors on open balconies. Built of limestone, in front of the columns of the second floor were laid limestone statues of the god Osiris and of Queen Hatshepsut in a beautiful distribution. Originally, these statues were colorful, and only some monuments remained in color, and some of the statues are in a perfectly good condition indicating the elegance of the temple's design and beauty.
