Present in the holy city of Makkah, Saudia Arabia; the mosque is the true focal point of Muslims. The Holy Kaabah, Zamzam Well, Maqam-e-Ibrahim (Station of Ibrahim), Hajar-al-Aswad (the Black stone), and the hills of Safah and Marwah are all housed within its boundary. Jabal-al-Noor.

Jabal-al-Noor, also known as the ‘Mountain of Light’ or ‘Hill of Illumination’, remains significantly famous for the cave of Hira. Hira cave is the cave where the Prophet Muhammad (SAWW) received the first revelation of the Holy Quran by Hazrat Jibril (AS) as per the will of Allah Almighty and it is situated on Jabal-al-Noor.

Since the sun is intense during the day, most pilgrims attempt the summit to Hira cave either at dawn or dusk and even in the evening. The climb can easily take anywhere from 45 minutes to 3 hours i.e., depending on one’s physical abilities. Therefore, bring plenty of water and a flashlight if you are also trekking to Hira cave. After ascending about 1,200 steps, you’ll reach the summit where the Hira cave is marked by a painted stone.

Jannat-Al-Mu’alla.

Not far from The Grand Mosque of Makkah, Jannat-Al-Mu’alla is the second most famous and holy cemetery of Islamic history. Here, many of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad's (SAWW) ancestors and close companions are resting, notably his (SAWW) mother (Aminah), grandfather (Abdul Muttalib), and also his (SAWW) first wife (Khadijah). The place is also commonly known as ‘Al-Hajun’ and lies at a distance of one kilometer north of the Holy Mosque i.e., a 15-minute walk.
