Harvey’s collectors included Lyndon Johnson, Margaret Thatcher and John Connally.
The oil on canvas painting by Jean Metzinger (French, 1883-1956), titled Femme Aux Cartes, has a Sotheby’s label on verso and comes with the Sotheby’s May 2, 1996 auction catalog. The 29 inch by 24 inch work, depicting a woman in a green dress playing cards, is signed lower left and housed in a 37 ¾ inch by 32 ¼ inch black painted and gilt frame (est. $100,000-$200,000).
The two paintings by Julian Onderdonk (Texas, 1882-1922) include a watercolor on paper titled Live Oak Tree on a Caliche Road, signed lower right, framed, 7 ½ inches by 9 ½ inches (sight) in a linen and walnut frame (est. $4,000-$6,000); and an oil on wood board titled Moonlight on the Long Island Marshes, signed lower right and signed, titled and dated (1909) on verso. It’s also inscribed 1920. The 6 inch by 9 inch (sight, less frame) should finish at $12,000-$14,000.
Two bronzes by Texas sculptor Bruce Greene (b. 1953) both carry estimates of $5,000-$7,000. One, titled For Better or Worse, is signed, edition 6/10 on the base, is 24 inches tall. Both sculptures have mahogany plinth.
Other noteworthy bronzes include one of a standing dancer disrobing titled Nureyev, Third Life, by Richard MacDonald (Calif., b. 1946). One other Day 1 noteworthy lot is a mid-20th century custom black tooled leather presentation saddle and tack once belonging to the actor Richard Boone, who starred in the TV Western series Have Gun, Will Travel. The saddle has elaborate custom nickel silver mounts and conchos, a wool and sheepskin saddle blanket and a wood stand, 48 inches in height (est. $4,500-$5,500).
While the Metzinger painting is an undisputed headliner on September 10th, the GIA pink diamond suite is certain to attract keen bidder interest. The four pieces will be sold as individual lots and carry a combined high estimate of $440,500. All are GIA certified and two of the four (the two most valuable pieces in the group) come with multiple GIA certificates. Here’s the set:

They are renowned for their extraordinary abilities, great costumes, and passion for justice. WatchMojo.com is proud to present the top 10 most influential superheroes.
#1 Superman
WatchMojoHQ was not pleased with the decision to name the number one choice for this list. But, it is hard to imagine who else it could be. The guy is super. Kal-El is the real Kal-El. His only weaknesses are kryptonite, and apparently, movie reboots. Joe Shuster and Jerry Siegel were high school students when the character was first created. In 1933, they sold it to Detective Comics, Inc., and in 1938, he was made public to America. He became the first superhero and helped to define the genre.
Do you agree with this list? What would you do if you could have someone save you from a burning house? Subscribe to WatchMojo.com to get more top 10s and learn the origins of your favorite comic-book characters.
#2 Batman
Without Batman, where would we be? He first appeared in Detective Comics #27 1939. He is the yin and yang of Superman, the secret identity of dark, brooding billionaire Bruce Wayne. He is a dark, complex, and compelling superhero. Despite not having superhuman abilities, he is a skilled detective, martial arts expert, as well as a technological genius.
Enjoy these honorable mentions before we reveal our top-ranked hero.
- The Flash (Debut 1940).
- Daredevil (Debut 1964)
Deadpool (Debut 1991).
- Green Arrow (Debut 1941).
Robin (Debut 1940).
#3 Spider-Man
This plucky underdog takes the number three spot. Perhaps the reason Peter Parker's Spider-man doesn't rank higher is his endearing imperfections and neuroses. It highlights Spider-Man’s youthfulness in contrast to his more serious peers.
In 1962's Amazing Fantasy #15, he was the first to make his debut. A radioactive spider bite allowed him to take on super-villains and also to defy a popular trend that teens were often left playing second fiddle to adults. He explored themes such as power, loss, and responsibility like most superheroes while remaining relatable to teenage readers.
#4 Wolverine
While there are many great X-Men heroes, this guy is the most powerful and coolest. Logan, a Canadian, is popular and unapologetic. He will rip you apart in just five seconds. This regenerating immortal with retractable Adamantium Claws made his debut in 1974's The Incredible Hulk #181. He has enjoyed an inexplicable amount of popularity over the years. His untanned appearance and his abrasive personality made him a sought-after actor for film adaptations.
#5 - Hulk
Although a bit inarticulate, this gigantic green smashing machine is enduringly loved through many decades and media adaptations. This Gamma-ray-fueled, Gamma ray-fueled berserker was the comic book's equivalent to a berserker car. He made his debut in 1962 with The Incredible Hulk #1. Bruce Banner must keep his cool, or "the other guy" will show up. The other guy is always in a bad mood and displays limitless strength as well as an insatiable desire to take down everything.
#6 Iron Man
The billionaire playboy philanthropist made his debut in 1963's Tales of Suspense #39. He then changed his look in issue #48. He could be called Marvel's Batman-Esque counterpart, but Iron man does it much better and with a lot more fun. Tony Stark is more than just a party animal. After being severely injured and kidnapped, Tony Stark has a sudden change of heart. He uses his knowledge to create incredible armor suits that he can use to defend the world.
#7 Captain America
Steve Rogers, the latest Marvel Superhero, has his own movie franchise. He was a soldier in World War II who was enhanced with super-soldier serum, first seen in Captain America Comics #1, 1941. This hero is best known for his distinctive headgear and invincible shield. He was also frozen when he crashed-landed in the arctic during World War II. He is now a symbol of American dreams, having been discovered and revived. The one that gives you everything in a single day, and doesn't require you to work. Cap's military experience made him an expert tactician, making him the natural choice to lead the Avengers.
#8 Wonder Woman
This feminist icon is a fighter against evil since 1941's All-Star Comics #8. Unfortunately, she is the only woman on this list. However, that could change with more Thor-related developments. She is also known as Diana, Warrior Princess Amazons. She has super strength, an invisible jet, a magic lasso, an invisible tiara, and invincible bracelets. You could not ask for more. Wonder Woman, will your company go out with you? I like this superhero hometown. I love to watch that country. If you want to create your misterioso country name then you can use a country name generator it’s too easy to generator cool country names.
#9 Thor
The Thunder God is the source of this superhero's power! The hammer-wielding royal immortal made his debut in 1962's Journey Into Mystery #83. He took it upon himself, along with his half-brother Loki, to protect Earth from any threats. Thor was created by utilizing the richness and mythology of Norse mythology in order to be a hero unlike anyone else. He was finally portrayed on the big screen by Chris Hemsworth.
#10 Green Lantern
We start with a superhero name generator who has a lifetime JLA membership. Another DC superhero is the Lantern. This character can be inhabited by many characters. The most well-known is Hal Jordan, an agent for the Green Lantern Corps, an interstellar law enforcement organization. He is an intergalactic guardian who fights with pure willpower. Alan Scott was the first Green Lantern to make his debut in 1940's All-American Comics #16. Hal made his debut in 1959.

Bruneau & Co. Auctioneers will ring in 2022 with a 20-lot New Year’s Day Premier Comic Auction on Saturday, January 1st. It’s a modest group of comics, but don’t let the size fool you. These books are from a single-owner Midwest collection (Bruneau & Co. sold the bulk of them this past year); what remains are his last, final comics, to be sold without reserves.
All 20 lots are rare, highly desirable Marvel comics from the Silver and Bronze Age, to include Amazing Fantasy #15 CGC 5.5, Amazing Spider-Man #1 CGC 7.5, Fantastic Four #1 CGC 8.0, Strange Tales #110 CGC 9.2, Incredible Hulk #1 CGC 6.5, and Werewolf By Night #1 CGC 9.8. Comics of this caliber rarely come up at auction. Serious collectors need to mark their calendars.
“This is an incredible opportunity and honor to handle a collection of books of this caliber, especially as some are of the finest examples available,” said Travis Landry, a Bruneau & Co. auctioneer and the firm’s Director of Pop Culture. “This is going to be the most exciting New Year’s Day I’ve had in a long time.” Mr. Landry is an appraiser on PBS’s Antiques Roadshow.
Kevin Bruneau, Bruneau & Co’s president and an auctioneer, added, “It’s amazing to see how an auction can only be twenty lots of comic books and produce the same results as a fine art auction. It just shows you how strong the market is for this property and where the collecting interests are today.” Bruneau & Co. has become an industry leader in auctioning comic books.
Three comics carry estimates of $50,000-$80,000. One is lot 11: a copy of Tales of Suspense #39 (March 1963), graded CGC 8.5. The comic features the origin and first appearance of Iron Man, plus an iconic cover by Marvel legend Jack Kirby. Two other examples of the comic in the sale, but with lesser grades of 5.5 and 5.0, are estimated at $15,000-$20,000 and $12,000-$18,000.
The second is a copy of Fantasy Four #1 (Nov. 1961), graded CGC 8.0, the comic that arguably brought the entire Marvel Universe into existence. Featuring the origin and first appearance of the Fantastic Four and Moleman (Marvel’s first-ever superhero team), the book sports one of the most famous covers by Jack Kirby in comic history. This is a must-have for dedicated collectors.
The third is a copy of Amazing Fantasy #15 (Aug. 1964), graded CGC 5.5, featuring the origin and first appearance of Spider-Man and the first appearance of Aunt May and Uncle Ben. The cover art is a collaboration between Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko, helping it land in the number one spot atop Overstreet’s list of Top 50 Silver Age Comics. It’s a true Holy Grail collectible.
A copy of Amazing Spider-Man #1 (March 1963), graded CGC 7.5 (estimate: $30,000-$50,000), a spinoff of the 11-page feature in Amazing Fantasy #15, features the second appearance of Spider-Man, plus a retelling of his origin, and the first appearance of J. Jonah Jameson and the Chameleon – the first Fantastic Four crossover. The cover art is by Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko.
A copy of Tales to Astonish #27 (Jan. 1962), graded CGC 9.0, released on newsstands just two months after Fantastic Four #1, is expected to reach $40,000-$60,000. The book features the first appearance of the Ant-Man, with cover artwork by Jack Kirby and interior artwork by Kirby and Steve Ditko. Two other copies in the sale, both graded 6.0, have estimates of $6,000-$9,000.
A copy of Strange Tales #110 (July 1963), graded CGC 9.2, an important comic from Marvel’s Silver Age, features the first appearance of Doctor Strange, Ancient One, Nightmare and Wong, as well as the first Paste-Pot Pete and Wizard team-up (estimate: $30,000-$50,000). Doctor Strange (The Sorcerer Supreme) is the new face of the Avengers through phase 4 of the MCU.
A copy of Incredible Hulk #1 (May 1962), graded CGC 6.5, features the origin and first appearance of the Incredible Hulk and the first appearance of Rick Jones, Betty Ross and General Ross (estimate: $30,000-$50,000). Also in the sale is Incredible Hulk #5 (Jan. 1963), CGC 9.2 (estimate: $7,000-$10,000); and #2 (July 1962), CGC 6.0 (estimate: $3,000-$5,000).
A copy of Journey Into Mystery #83 (Aug. 1962), graded CGC 7.0, featuring the origin and first appearance of Thor, with cover art by Jack Kirby and interior art by Kirby and Steve Ditko, should bring $20,000-$40,000. Being a 1962 key comic, it’s nearly impossible to find a copy in any condition, let alone a CGC 7.0. Whoever holds this comic shall possess the power of Thor!
A preview is available by appointment the week of and day of sale, with doors opening at 9 am Eastern time. The auction will begin at 12 noon. Bidding is available via in-person, absentee, telephone or Internet, with a 20% buyer's premium (or 18% with cash, check or wire transfer).
Internet bidding will be facilitated by LiveAuctioneers.com, Invaluable.com, Bidsquare.com, bidLIVE.Bruneauandco.com and the mobile app “Bruneau & Co.” on iTunes or GooglePlay. https://www.bramptonfirstaidcpr.com/
There are many reasons why First Aid is so crucial. As our society age and the "Baby Boomer generation" is at its peak medical treatment becomes more essential. Second, due to all the rare infections that are out there, its importance has increased.
First Aid is typically used to treat minor scrapes and cuts or refers to the first reaction to any medical emergency. Applying first aid quickly and accurately in a traumatic accident can make all the difference when saving a life. You never know whether you will be called upon to act quickly in an emergency for yourself or someone else.

Many people would not want to admit that they are not well-trained in medical emergencies. This is because they are afraid that their families won’t be able to trust them if they don’t know what to do in case of an emergency.
By providing cpr training available for employees, employers can demonstrate to their employees that they value providing a safe work environment. First aid training provided in the workplace could be used as an excellent team-building exercise and morale booster. Employee morale is an integral aspect of any business. Positive attitudes lead to positive results. A high morale level is a sign of a positive attitude. Your employees' happiness and wellbeing will result in greater trust and can result in a healthier working environment. First aid training will help ensure the safety and health of your employees and will also boost health and morale.
So, to know more about first aid and how to save a person who is choking or having a heart attack, you should enroll for a CPR class.
What is CPR Training?
When you have children, it is very important that you know how to handle emergencies. You should know how to perform CPR on someone who is choking, unconscious, or has a heart attack. This will help you to save a life. It is good to take a CPR class. It will teach you how to perform CPR on someone who is choking, unconscious, or has a heart attack. It will teach you about emergency first aid and how to take care of a child if you ever need to do it. There are many people who need CPR. You should know this. It's important that you know what to do if you need to give it to someone. It's best to know how to do it, even if you never have to use it.
The importance of taking this course
In a nutshell, a basic course of this kind will enable you to learn how to recognize an emergency. If you have the necessary training, then you will be ready to respond when such situations arise. This is because if you are not trained, then you might have the tendency to panic and not do what needs to be done. Therefore, you must be prepared to save lives.
A life that you may be saving may be your own or the life of someone you love. In fact, it can happen at any time and anywhere; hence, you need to be able to react well in such situations. For that, you need to be equipped with the right knowledge.
Why you should attend a CPR course
You will learn the various symptoms that can help you in saving a person’s life. This includes checking for breathing, pulse, and blood pressure. You will learn how to perform CPR and how to deal with other emergency cases like choking, drowning, and seizure. You will also know how to take care of an unconscious person and how to help an asthmatic child. The whole point is that you will have the right knowledge to use when you are faced with an emergency.
So, to make sure that you are ready when the time comes, you must attend a CPR class. You should check if there are any upcoming classes near you, or you can always enrol in a course at a nearby medical institution or hospital.
Conclusion:
You need to learn about first aid because it can help save lives. It will keep you aware of what to do when an emergency arises. In this way, you will be prepared.
