Mahabalipuram, also known as Mamallapuram is famous for its stone, soapstone, and granite sellers. Mahabalipuram is a historic city and UNESCO World Heritage site in Tamil Nadu, India. Handmade Bhagwan Ganesha is a rare stone statue from the southern city of temples, Tamilnadu. Lord Ganesha gently inclines on the lotus flower the symbol of enlightenment. Lotus is considered symbolic flowers in Buddhist culture. The Ganesha has a head of an elephant and a big belly. Chaturbhuja deity holds his broken tusk in his upper right hand and a conch in another. His lower hand is in Abhay mudra known as the gesture of fearlessness, reassurance, and safety. The large elephant head of Lord Ganesha in a bun like Shiva symbolizes wisdom, understanding, and a discriminating intellect that one must possess to attain perfection in life.

Devi Mahakali, the consort of ‘Mahakala’ (Great Time), a form of Lord Shiva, is the Goddess of time, life, death, creation, as well as liberation. The most powerful Goddess Mahakali is one of the three manifestations of Devi Durga that represent the three Gunas of material nature (sattva, rajas, and tamas). Being the consort of Lord Shiva, who is the predominating deity of the mode of ignorance, Mahakali represents Tamas and is the boundless energy behind the act of destruction of the material world. She is considered as ‘Prakriti’, the driving force or energy, while ‘Purusha’ is the Absolute Reality, hence Mahakali is the divine power of the supreme consciousness (Mahakala). This means that without the cosmic energy of action, material existence is not possible.
