A clinic in Sydney that does hearing aid fittings
Recently, my mother was experiencing some difficulty in hearing. It all started with her asking us to increase the TV volume to an uncomfortable degree, followed by her complaining of feeling off-balance and then mishearing sentences and thus entire conversations.
I did not want to wait for the situation to get worse and so decided to get an at-home hearing test from Sydney’s Hearing Aids’ Professionals.
Are you aware of the types of hearing loss?
Yes. Hearing loss is classified into many types depending upon which structural part of the ear is affected.
The types of hearing loss are:
Sensorineural Hearing Loss in Sydney
In this case, the nerve that extends from the ear to the brain is damaged due to old-age or infection. The damage lies in the inner ear and this is where the cochlea also is present. Thus hearing is affected.
Sensorineural hearing loss in Sydney cannot be cured, however, with the right hearing aids, the person’s hearing can be helped.
Conductive Hearing Loss in Sydney
In this case, the transfer of sound waves is impacted. The issue lies in the outer ear, or the tympanic membrane, or the middle ear and due to this, the sound cannot be transferred efficiently.
If the conductive hearing loss in Sydney occurs due to a blockage in the canal, or a buildup of earwax, then the problem can be solved. However, if the hearing loss is due to a structural problem in the bones of the middle ear or the membrane, hearing aids can help.
Mixed Hearing Loss in Sydney
When conductive hearing loss is coupled with sensorineural problems, the condition is called mixed hearing loss.
Choosing the right hearing aids can help.
When the audiometrists from Sydney’s Hearing Aids’ Professionals checked my mom, they discovered she had mixed hearing loss.
We got a hearing aid fitting done in Sydney
Once my mother’s hearing problems were identified, the audiometrists conducted a series of hearing aid fitting sessions Sydney and she was fit with a customised pair of hearing aids!
My mother loves personalised stuff no matter what, and she absolutely loved the idea of customised hearing aids. Another aspect is that these guys source their products from some of the best names in the market and so its all top-notch quality.
Hearing Aids’ Professionals were extremely kind and efficient and patient.
I am so grateful to them for the at-home hearing tests in Sydney and all the follow-up visits they have done for my mother. These days it is tough to find a service that will take its patients’ concerns so personally and these guys did.
They even suggested some assistive listening devices that help. But that’s for another time.
Thanks a bunch, Hearing Aids’ Professionals!
