Chronic fatigue syndrome or CFS is a disorder where the patient experiences extreme tiredness or fatigue that is hard to get rid of even with rest. In order for one to be diagnosed of CFS, other medical conditions should be ruled out first.

This disorder is more common in women in their 40s and older. CFS can be caused by many different factors including stress, current health, environment, and more.

Though there is no definite cure to CFS, there are still ways to overcome and treat the symptoms that come with the condition. Symptoms include loss of memory, loss of concentration, tiredness even after sleep, insomnia, muscle pain, headaches, sore throat and swollen lymph nodes among many others.

Here are some effective ways you can overcome CFS.

Eliminate Allergic Reactions

One of the main causes of CFS is said to be allergens or sensitivities to certain foods. If you know which foods you are sensitive in, be sure to avoid them. It is important to eliminate all the factors that could affect the syndrome. You might also be allergic to pollen, certain chemicals and more. You can take some recommended medication for your allergies and treat them immediately as they could be making your condition worse.

Increase Your Intake of Vitamin B, Magnesium and Potassium

Vitamin B6, thiamine and riboflavin, B12 and folate, according to different tests and researches, are very important in relieving fatigue, which is one of the major symptoms of CFS. Also, they boost the immune system and help the body to fight off different diseases including cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular problems, psychiatric disorders and more. In addition, B12 reduces the depression that can come with CFS, boosts energy and improves mood. Tuna, eggs, and salmon are just some of the great sources of the different B vitamins.

Magnesium and Potassium are also great energy boosters. You can get magnesium from bananas, almonds, spinach and dark chocolate. Potassium is also present in bananas, spinach, yogurt, and mushrooms.

Rest As Much As You Can

Rest doesn’t mean just sleeping eight or more hours a day. It also means taking some time off from work or other things that give you stress. Stress is one reason why CFS gets worse. You can opt to go for a vacation, hang out with friends once a week at least, go for some exercise therapy, get a massage and more. There are many other things that you can do to get rid of stress in the body and heal you from exhaustion because of work or the environment you are in.

Take Some Supplements

These days, more and more people are discovering the benefits food supplements can give them. Particularly, a chronic fatigue supplement can give you the energy you need to go on with your day. Also, it would be of great help to overcome chronic fatigue syndrome.

Get Some Help

It is hard to fight off the disorder on your own. Talk to a specialist and get support from family and friends. It would be much more effective to have people know what you are going through for them to know what they can do to help you.
