Strapping:

Strapping is the activity of binding, combining, reinforcing or fastening an item with the aid of a strap. This strap could be either a plastic or steel material which is very flexible. It is mostly used in horizontal or vertical band; thus this process is also known as Banding. These straps are available in various ranges of tensile strengths, widths and thicknesses. It can be used in the form of loops or edge protectors. The loops hold the attached items, whereas the latter reduces the damage by spreading the load at the corners. The strap is initially tensioned and then sealed, either to itself or with a notch joint or via welding.

Strapping Tools:

The two major categories of strapping tools are hand tools and strapping machines. The hand tools consist of manual, for low volume applications, and automatic which use a battery as a power source. Whereas strapping machines, otherwise known as bundlers, are utilized for high volume applications and come in either horizontal or vertical orientations (the vertical being more common). These are further categorized on the basis of their automations. They may be automatic, which are hands free or semi-automatic which allows the fastening of boxes of any size. The manual Electric Strapping Tools are the most preferred ones. They possess the capability to strap either steel or plastic seals and provide maximum service to numerous industries. These electric types of sealers are manufactured using the basic material of the best quality and are highly recommended for applications ranging from light to medium duty. It is an independent device powered by a rechargeable battery. It efficiently tightens, friction buckles and straps automatically with the push of a button. It is fast, safe, simple, efficient and environmentally friendly.

Crimping:

Crimping is the process of joining objects by disfiguring one or both of them. This disfigurement is called bend and such materials are required to be ductile in nature. This is most widely used in metalworking, in enduring electrical connections, tightening lids on metal cans, and the list is endless. Being a type of cold technique, crimping is used to form a fastening between metallic and non-metallic components. The crimp joints are arranged in such a way that they could prevent the accumulation of dirt. This technique is used to crimp wires and pipes and therefore, requires a special crimping tool which is very much different from pliers and hammers.

Crimping Tools:

A good crimper forms a cold weld between the wire and the barrel of the connector. One other example being affixing a connector to the end of a cable. The end product of the tool's work is known as crimp. This pipe crimping tool finds a special function in pipe fittings, mostly PEX fittings. It is used to form a water tight seal to prevent leaking. At the end, a crimp ring, made up of copper or stainless steel is secured onto place. It has a well-polished jaw to ensure that the copper ring and pipe is not damaged. It also consists of an angle type head design which helps it to reach into tighter spaces and make pipe installation. It is the most low-cost method of fixing pipe leakages.
