Whats an elimination period in insurance, particularly how might it work in dental insurance?

This prevents someone with no insurance who knows they have a cavity from getting dental insurance right before they have a dentists appointment...in insurnance lingo it prevents "moral hazard" or "adverse selection".... answers 2:It's probably a "waiting period" that applies to your major services on the dental plan. Elimination period usually refers to disability insurance. They are both actually "waiting periods", but the terminology is different. I hope this helps you.
