For decades, Labour Day has been observed all over the world on May 1 in memory of the Chicago workers who were killed by police while striking for an eight-hour workday in 1886. It is an official holiday in Pakistan and in around 80 other countries. But for much of Pakistan, particularly daily-wage workers, today is just any other day.
