Hello everyone! Welcome to this little post where I'll be telling you about my experience traveling to Tulum, I’ll tell you about my experience with Cancun to Tulum Shuttle service, my transportation around the city and what I think about coming to this beautiful place!
Tulum, a magical place
Tulum stands out as an “alternative†place in Cancun and Playa del Carmen. And although it has been growing by leaps and bounds in recent years, it still retains its village soul. The beautiful beaches of this destination, are about 4 km from the town. The archaeological zone (famous for being on a cliff next to the sea) is right where the beaches end.
I first arrived at the Cancun Airport, I traveled with two of my best friends in the whole world and the flight was very long because it got delayed.
Thanks to my mom’s advice, we booked a Cancun to Tulum Shuttle service, and in my experience, it was one of the best decisions we could make.
As I mentioned before our flight got delayed and even though we had this problem, our driver was waiting for us to take us to the hotel in Tulum, this is because our transportation service had flight monitoring for free, which means the already knew about our delay.
We also ordered some drinks and snacks for our ride and we thought it was a good choice.
Just to mention, we picked the round-trip service, which means that in our departure they would go to the hotel and pick us up to take us back to the Cancun Airport.
Our arrival in Tulum
We arrived late to our hotel due to the delay of the plane, however, that did not stop us, we decided to go up to our room, to leave our things and to go out to know this beautiful town that so much had been recommended to us.
Even though it was getting dark, we decided to go and see one of the beaches that we were recommended. We went to the beach of Xcacel, a completely natural beach, without services, only with a small palapa and a few baths to change clothes.
Xcacel and Mayan ruins
Definitely, it was one of the best decisions because this place still conserves that natural magic, without altering anything of its origin.
Inside this place, which we later found out is an ecological reserve, there is also a cenote which we could not visit the same day because the reserve closed at 5 pm and we arrived around 3 pm so we did not have time to know the whole place, however it was something we enjoyed.

After visiting xcacel we decided to return to our hotel and sleep so we could visit other places the next day.
In the hotel, we asked for information about which places we could visit and we were recommended to go to the archaeological ruins and so we did, we visited what looked like a Mayan castle that looked impressive with the sea in the background creating a beautiful landscape. We also took the opportunity to see the cenote that we couldn’t see the day before.
Our last days…
During the last day before our flight home, we decided to visit a cenote called “crystalline†this cenote is about 45 minutes from the center of Tulum and is a beautiful place where the water is completely crystal clear.
It is surrounded by a lot of vegetation so the landscape is simply wonderful. We did here basically all day and during the night we visited a bar called “Kikiâ€. Here we ate, had a few drinks and danced until the early morning, then returned to our hotel to return home the next day.
For our return home, our transportation service was waiting to take us back to the airport. They were very punctual in this aspect so that we did not have any problem with the schedules.
Fortunately, on this occasion, our flight did not have any kind of delay or complication and our trip to the airport did not have any complication, in fact, it was very comfortable and we could sleep during the whole trip.
Finally
Finally, I would like to recommend the company with whom I booked my Cancun to Tulum Shuttle service.
The company is called eTransfers and offers different services to different hotels all over Cancun, Playa del Carmen and Riviera Maya. They also have different types of services so you can fin the best service that fits your travel needs.
