Express Entry draw : July 8, 2021 Canada invited another 4,500 Canadian Experience Class (CEC) candidates to apply for permanent residency in new Express Entry Draw held on July 8, 2021. The invitations to apply (ITAs) were issued to candidates who had a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) threshold of at least 369. The Express Entry system is Canada’s primary source of skilled foreign workers. It manages the profiles of candidates under three Federal High Skilled economic class immigration programs: Federal Skilled Worker Class, Federal Skilled Trades Class and Canadian Experience Class. The Canadian Experience Class (CEC) is an immigration category for foreign workers who have completed at least one year of skilled work experience in Canada within the last three years and who wish to become permanent residents. It is an ideal route to Canadian permanent residency for temporary foreign workers including international students. Having obtained Canadian work experience, these individuals get a “head start” against other candidates in the Express Entry pool as it is a highly-valued factor under the CRS. The IRCC applied a tie break in this draw and the time stamp used was June 10, 2021 at 22:46:37 UTC. This means all CEC candidates with a CRS score of and above 369 who had submitted their profiles before this date & time, received ITAs in this invitation round. Canada has a target of inviting 108,500 immigration candidates for permanent residency through the Express Entry system in 2021. So far, IRCC has invited 93,842 Express Entry candidates this year, which is twice the number of invitations issued by Canada at the same time last year – 53,800. Since the beginning of 2021, Canada has been holding only CEC and Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)-specific Express Entry draws as these candidates are most likely to be present in Canada during the pandemic.
