Non-Governmental Organisations are those establishments that carry various actions or activities for the benefit of underprivileged people, society, and even animals. They play a crucial role in helping out the country for many years, providing support to the people in need, and helps upraise the socio-economic status of the country. They are one of the critical parts of this whole system as their job is to fill the gaps left by the government by giving a chance to start a better life.
Here is a list of registered NGO in West Bengal who do an excellent performance at their job:
1. JPS Medaid
JPS Medaid (Reg. No. (India): S/2L 36267) is working nonstop since 2009. They aim to provide a healthy living condition for the people from the poverty-stricken section of society. JPS Medaid’s motive is to achieve equal human rights and offer a better lifestyle. Their work includes relief distribution, treatments to the people in need, and even free medical camp.
Secretary of this establishment, Shri Joydeep Das, has been working and contributing her life for the needy ones for nine years. Steps they have taken for the betterment towards society include:

2. Love N Care for Animals
This voluntary animal welfare organisation works for street dogs, cats, abandoned cows, neglected birds, even horses and much more. Love N Care for Animals is addressed to Sarsuna Main Road. During the COVID-19 pandemic, abandoned dogs were rescued from the infected family and given a safe shelter.
Other than dogs, their priority is also cats, birds, and abandoned cows. They provide medicines and a high-protein diet to them. Licensed veterinarians do regular check-ups and provide prescribed medication.
3. Hope Kolkata Foundation
The right to free and compulsory education is a fundamental constitutional right of every child from 6 to 14 years in India. Hope Kolkata Foundation aims to educate the underprivileged children in the slums of Kolkata. They ensure fundamental educational rights for the children who cannot bear the expenses below the poverty line.
Financial sponsorship is given to the deserved students so that nothing comes in the way of their better education and lifestyle. H.K.F. also aims to provide primary education for children in the age group 3-5 by nursery and day-care in different places. Till now, the lives of 48,888 children were positively impacted because of Hope Kolkata Foundation.
4. Paripurnata Half-Way Home
A non-profit organisation, established in 1992, and since then, Paripurnata Half-Way Home is working diligently to provide better lives to the women in need, including mentally ill women and women in trauma due to jail sentence. Paripurnata Half-Way Home ensures that women do not need to suffer for their past mistakes or mental issues.
As the name goes, they understand that every woman who visits there has come from the middle of their life’s journey. They come from confinement or mental cage to a family-like ambience. The organisation helps them integrate into their community and a better society to lead a meaningful life.
5. Parivaar Education Society
P.E.S. humanitarian organisation is a bit different from the others. They are inspired by the spiritual and humanistic principles of Sri Ramakrishna and Swami Vivekananda, with their chief foundation based in West Bengal and recently in Madhya Pradesh.
For the past 18 years, they are determined to care for children victim of exploitation, trafficking, and even victimization. These children include orphans, young ones from the street, and impoverished ones from tribal areas. P.E.S. provides residential living, education, and overall development of a child through sports, cultural activities, and even recreational activities in a caring ambience.
