November doesn't have the reputation of being the most cheerful month. And quite honestly, sometimes the grey autumn skies can be a bit of a challenge for the mind. But don't let it spoil your mood and get inspired by our travel suggestions. The sun is always shining somewhere in the world: we'll tell you where.
1. Seychelles
Seychelles is an island nation in the Indian Ocean. 115 islands belong to it, surrounded by crystal clear water. Palm trees, white dream beaches, and imposing granite rocks round off this paradise on earth.
The Seychelles - white, secluded dream beaches, lush vegetation, unique nature reserves as well as fascinating granite rock formations. and the famous Coco-de-Mer palm distinguishes this paradise in the Indian Ocean, just below the equator. Find and discover Seychelles Resorts, island info, and best beaches.
Mahé is the largest of the three main islands. It is very easy to explore by rental car. It is characterised by densely forested areas, tea plantations, coastal villages, and beautiful bays. The most famous beach is probably Beau Vallon. It is located in the northwest of Mahé. It is a lively place with small restaurants and authentic takeaways serving the best Creole cuisine. The south of Mahé is home to quiet beaches, turquoise water as far as the eye can see. These include Anse Intendance, Anse Royal, and the beautiful bays of Police Bay and Anse Takamaka.
Praslin is the second largest island, more dreamy and quiet than Mahé. Nevertheless, it is recommended to explore it with a rental car. You can immerse yourself in the wonderful jungle world with a visit to the Vallée de Mai or the Fond Ferdinand National Park. Here you will also find one of the landmarks of Seychelles, the Coco de Mer. The most beautiful beaches on Praslin include Anse Lazio, Anse Volbert, and Anse Georgette.
La Digue is a small, manageable island that can be easily explored by bicycle. It is home to one of the most photographed beaches in the world - Anse Source D'Argent. The Grand Anse on La Digue is also a must-see. It serves as a starting point for breathtaking hikes.
2. South Africa
When the autumn fogs roll in Europe, summer spreads to the southern latitudes of the earth. Now it is dry and warm in all regions of South Africa. On the west coast, the climate is the Mediterranean, and in winter it is comparatively cool and humid. So November is perfect for a trip to the Mother City.
Framed by two oceans, hidden bays, and wine estates, Cape Town sits enthroned. South Africa's first city lies at the tip of the Cape of Good Hope and at the foot of the mighty Table Mountain. Not for nothing is the entire region considered one of the most beautiful in the world. With such breathtaking scenery, wonderful summers, and a unique mix of cultures, it's hard not to fall in love with Cape Town right away.
Pay a visit directly to the city's landmark. The ride up Table Mountain is spectacular, as the gondola rotates 360 degrees. Once you've reached the top, you'll be greeted by a breathtaking panorama. Afterward, take a walk through the Botanical Gardens. Chapman's Peak Drive, one of the world's most famous coastal roads towards the Cape of Good Hope, is a wonderful drive. On the way back, you can stop at Boulders Beach, home to a cute colony of Jackass Penguins.
3. United Arab Emirates
Where the desert sands glow in shades of red, camels stir up dusty clouds and the air smells of spices. There, the onset of winter brings more pleasant temperatures. In stark contrast to this fairytale, sketches are ultra-modern cities like Dubai and Abu Dhabi with superlative architectural works.
What was little more than a dark fishing village 30 years ago is now miraculously one of the most modern cities in the world. Perched on an island in the Persian Gulf, it is sparkling and futuristic: the capital of the United Arab Emirates, Abu Dhabi. In Arabic, the name means "father of the gazelle" and so Abu Dhabi is the father and ruler of the other emirates. It is characterised by extreme opulence and unfathomable wealth, inspiring every superlative.
Stroll along the coast and discover the most beautiful corners of Abu Dhabi. The magnificent architecture and ornate decorations of the famous Sheikh Zayed Mosque, considered one of the largest mosques in the world, will enchant you. Saadiyat Island is the cultural centre of the city, where you can see famous works of art from different eras in the architecturally impressive Louvre.
4. Mauritius
Mauritius is said to be more beautiful than the sky and has always attracted travellers with its endless sugar-colored beaches, sunshine, and water as clear as glass. Blessed with this natural beauty, it is no question that the island in the Indian Ocean is focusing on tourism. Not only is it the place with the special charm of different cultures where you can find relaxation and a sense of paradise, Mauritius also offers you optimal water sports conditions.
At the beginning of the warm and humid summer season in November, the sun shines more often in the north and it is generally a little warmer - especially in the rain shadow of the mountains in the northwest.
The north of Mauritius, like most of the island, is known for its soft white sand beaches lapped by crystal clear, palm-fringed waters. It is home to a variety of fascinating attractions, including the National Botanical Gardens of Mauritius with over 650 species of plants. Port Louis, the island's bustling capital, lies in the northwest. Inland, lush jungle, overgrown mountains, and volcanic craters, as well as impressive rivers and waterfalls, await discovery.
